Well done to all our novices who did their final race of the series last
weekend, and a big thanks to the many many club members who assisted on the day.

Swim coach Wanted
=================
The Canberra Bilbys Triathlon Club is looking for a level 1 swim coach to take
on triathlon swim squad sessions. Please pass this on to anyone who might be
interested.
Location: Canberra Olympic Pool, Allara St, Civic
Time: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6:00pm to 7.30pm
Pay: $30 per session
We have a mix of accomplished swimmers to new but capable swimmers from high
school juniors to adults over 3-4 lanes. The successful applicant will be
responsible overall but have an assistant coach for the slower lane.
Ideally we would be looking for someone with a little familiarity with
triathlon swimming needs but a strong commitment to the club and enthusiasm for
coaching are most important.
For more details or to express your interest please contact
Julia Easthope on 0414 343 851 or julialovell at yahoo.com
The Canberra Bilbys Triathlon Club is one of the largest triathlon clubs in
Canberra and we pride ourselves on being an accessible club with a supportive
and friendly environment for training and socialising.

XPD adventure race
==================
Starting next Tuesday night in Tasmania, covering 650km of MTBing, trekking,
paddling and roping - expected to take at least 5 days for the winners and cut
off of 10 days. Bilbys racing are Randall Fitzsimon and Alex Ramsey in team
Entropic, and Julie Quinn and David Baldwin in Team Tangerine. Race info at
http://xpd.com.au and live updates will be at http://sleepmonsters.com.au
Paddy Pallin 6hour Rogaine
==========================
The 2006 ACT Paddy Pallin Rogaine will be held near Bungendore. The course is a
lovely mix of open grazing country and native forest, almost all of which is
quite clear at ground level and should prove to be easy going. The area is very
suitable for beginners, but also provides fine detail to challenge more
experienced rogainers. Once again, Paddy Pallin will be supporting the event by
providing a great range of lucky dip prizes. The course map will be a specially
prepared 1:15000 scale orienteering map.
Entries are open until Sunday 26th Feb, after that you pay an extra $10 per
person late fee. http://act.rogaine.asn.au
Warning to female runners around Mt Ainslie
===========================================
My apologies for not passing this warning on a couple of weeks ago.
Naomi writes: "Hi girls (and guys who know girls that run).
I'm keen to warn you about an incident that happened while a friend of
mine was running around Mt Ainslie between 8-9am on Sunday morning. She
was running by herself and was sexually assaulted by a man (of African
appearance) who was also out running.
It might be a good idea to run with your mobile phone (if you're running
by yourself) or run with someone else.
Please pass the message on to other girls who might run or walk around
there."
Jindabyne Multi-sport event - March 19th
========================================
The second year of this great race. It's a great day, all based around Lake
Jindabyne, starting at the north and working south and then west into Koskiuszko
NP. 4 disciplines (swim, paddle, run, bike) X 3. Get yourself in a team or for a
real challenge go solo - it's easier than the triple tri! Info at:
http://www.srichinmoyraces.org/au/events/jindabyne/
Wanted - lake swimmer for female team
We need a swimmer to do one or two swim legs in a team of 4 women doing the
Jindabyne Sri Chinmoy event (Sunday of Canberra long weekend).
Should be a pretty good team - but most importantly one with the right
attitude to good times. Swim legs are 1-2.5km long. If you're a possible starter
please reply to lyndseyvivian at yahoo.com.au or Erica.Collins at halliburton.com
Wanted - support crew
Julie Quinn and David Baldwin are each looking for support crews for solo
efforts. All expenses paid long weekend in Jindabyne on offer! Contact Julie -
julie.quinn at bilbsy.org / 0421 021693 or David - david.baldwin at bilbys.org / 0402
