[Bilbys] Update 9 March

Good luck to everyone racing in the Final Fling this Sunday - the last 
TACT race of the season.

Bilbys World Champs 18 March
============================
The Bilbys World Champs will be taking place in the morning on Saturday 
March 18 - put it in your diary now! The race is a short or long 
distance aquathlon, with big prizes for the person closest to their 
guessed time.

Ironman NZ
==========
A shortened course due to extreme weather. Sarah Fien was 3rd female - 
awesome! Stu Bardsley came 34th (14th pro men) and Jen Dixon 19th female 
(4th F25-29).
   High winds, gusting over 30 knots, forced organizers to run a 
shortened event, eventually staging a bike-run over a 90km loop on the 
cycle and 21km lap on the run.
   The conditions, which caused waves to 1m on Lake Taupo, forced the 
cancellation of the swim leg. With a low pressure system off the east 
coast of the country slowly easing, organizers decided that a one lap 
bike and run was a safe option, starting at 11am. Competitors started 
individually with the professionals at 30 second intervals, then age 
groupers at 5 second intervals.

Jindabyne Multisport

Swimmer needed for Jindabyne Multi-Sport Classic
   Patti Wilkins is looking for a swimmer to do the 1.5 km 1st leg of 
this race on 19th March, in her son Dan's team. They have booked 
accommodation at the Sport & rec Camp for Sat & Sun nights.
   Registration deadline is soon so if you can help out please call or
