2007 THREDBO CAMP !!!
It's back again!!
The Bilbys Triathlon Club has spent a week at Thredbo during January
each of the past 8 years. Those involved all had the chance to
experience the life of a full-time triathlete (or leisure triathlete for
most) and enjoy the many activities Thredbo has to offer such as Golf,
Tennis, Squash, Touch Footy, Bobsled, Bush Walking, Mountain biking,
Waterslides and much more.
Such a success is this training camp that it is back by popular demand.
Training can be whatever you wish for it to be, with the option to do
group training or solo if you wish. You may be keen to do two (or more)
sessions daily (including Swimming, Cycling, Running and
stretching/conditioning), you may choose to just train at your leisure,
or take the opportunity to kick back and relax in the mountains. The
camp is available to all levels, and is fun for all ages.
Accommodation will be same as for last camp at the Thredbo YHA Lodge.
The Lodge is located up behind the Thredbo village at 8 Jack Adams Path.
The shops, supermarket and restaurants in the village are a three minute
walk from the lodge. The chairlifts are also within easy walking
distance. The lodge is self-catering and a moderate sized communal
kitchen is provided. For more info you can view their website at
http://www.yha.com.au/hostels/details.cfm?hostelid=34&CFID=1977273&CFTOK
EN=36400975 .
The camp will run from January 14-21, 2007, however, how long you stay
for is up to you (pending availability of course). The camp is run in
conjunction with National Runners Week, and accommodation is $22/night -
includes accommodation (at present we have reserved 8x4 share and 1x6
share rooms), self-catering. Nightly stays for shorter periods are
welcome. Linen for beds is provided, just bring Pillow, towels and your
training gear. Additional Costs: Kosciusko National Park entry, Pool
entry, golf green fees, bobsled, lift Tickets, equipment hire for
activities, food, beverages and National Runners Week Activities.
We will need to confirm numbers and payments to be made in full by NLT
Friday, 10 November 2006 - to enable us to hold beds. So get in fast!
Novices & Juniors are more than welcome as the camp caters for all
abilities. It is a great opportunity to build on your base skills gained
from the novice program.
If you're keen to join in the fun, please contact me by e-mail
christina.thorne at bigpond.com and confirm number of nights you wish to
attend and to arrange payment (Note your booking will not be confirmed
until payment is made). For more information see
http://bilbys.org/thredbo where you will also find details of the camp
(will be updated soon).
See you soon!
