============
Good luck to Carl Fellows, Melinda Cockshutt and Nat Wood (not a Bilby but a Canberra girl known to many Bilbys so we'll cheer for her just the same!) who have headed off to Hawaii this week to race in the Ford World Ironman Championships at Kona. Ask any Ironman and they'll tell you Kona is the ultimate in triathlon so it's a pretty big deal to have three people we know racing! You can catch live coverage of the race from the Ironman website www.ironman.com

Good luck to everyone competing in the Scott 24hr MTB race this weekend. Pretty much every Bilby who owns a MTB will be out there so we should have some good results (or stories!) for you next week.

And also congratulations to Jen Davis, Susan Hansar and Ailsa MacPherson who all raced in the Gold Coast half ironman last weekend. Susan and Jen behaved themselves and other than a pretty major flight delay Ailsa had a great time so all round a good weekend of racing for Bilbys.
  Novice space - they're pretty quick!=========================Word on the street is our 2008 novice triathletes are pretty quick. This week they've had their first bike session learning how to bunch ride and pick up water bottles in the Treasury car park!

On Tuesday they did their 2km time trial at Dickson oval with many times around the 9 minute mark - that's 4 1/2 minute k's and they haven't even started training! And it was great to meet a few of our novice participants at the Tuesday night dinner at Debacle as well. We look forward to meeting more of you throughout the program :-) Farrell-Marshall Run – entries open, win cash! =================================It’s time again for the annual Farrell-Marshall club run, where the person with the best guess wins! This year it’s on Thursday 16 Oct at 6pm at Stromlo Forest Park. All you have to do is guess your time to run 5km, take off your watch for the race and the winner is the person with the closest guess – not necessarily the fastest person! The entry fee is $5. There are cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd best guess from the pool of entry fees, a prize for the worst guess, and there will also be barrel draw prizes from our lovely sponsors – The Runners Shop and exceedfitness. Special thanks to Jamie from Freshstart Mortgage Solutions who has donated the cash prize for the best guess - thanks Jamie! Take advantage of daylight savings and stick around after the run for pizza and softdrinks for $5 per person. When: Thursday 16 Oct, 5:45-6.00pm registration and race numbering, 6:05pm race start, 6:45ish prize presentation and pizza Where: Stromlo Forest Park cross country track, in front of the grandstand (map available at http://www.stromloforestpark.com.au/map/index.html) Distance: 5km, two laps of the full circuit, handicapped start Cost: $5 race entry, $5 for pizza and soft drink RSVP: to frances.mcnamara at bilbys.org with your race time guess and if you are staying for pizza, by 5:00pm Wednesday 15 Oct New sessions from exceedfitness======================
