BILBYS NEWS
16 September 2011
From the President
Last night I was very excited to welcome around 70 new members to the
club at our novice program introduction night. Their training program
starts this weekend, and I am sure you will all make them feel very
welcome at Tuesday night running sessions. also if you are interested
in assisting with the novice Sunday runs please email Christina Thorne
- cmthorne099 at gmail.com
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help out with the
coaching throughout the program, and to Helen, Molly and Jeremy for
their hard work behind the scenes.
A reminder that Terry Dixon will be taking over coaching at Civic from
next week for Monday and Wendesday nights, and Stuart Bardsley will
take over CISAC. Again thank you to everyone who has helped out in the
last two weeks.
Good luck to everyone participating in the Sri Chinmoy Googong
Multi-sport event this weekend. The weather forecast sounds good and
should make for a nice day.
Cheers
Jess

Change in venue for interval running sessions
ACT sports grounds are closed for one more week, so our interval
sessions will be held at the following venues:
Tuesday: Meet at Reid Ovals at 6pm to run in the middle of Anzac
Parade.
Thursday:- Meet at Diddams Close Lake Gininderra at 6pm (where triple
tri starts) We will do timed intervals around the Lake. There are
lights but it would be good to have a light and/or bight clothes for
extra visibility.

Triathlon ACT (TACT) is holding its annual general meeting on Thursday

All TACT members are encouraged to attend. Bilbys member Alex Gosman
is planning to nominate for the TACT committee so it would be good for
Bilbys members to attend to support him, and also support the TACT

XPD Teammate required
Is anyone keen on teaming up for XPD? www.xpd.com.au
We have once again lost our 4th due to work commitments and need to
find a replacement. As the world championship event it's sure to be an
awesome course set in remote Tassie wilderness. So if you're fit
enough to last 800kms and can spare 2 weeks in early November then
this is for you.
We will be happy to team up with anyone with a reasonable level of
fitness. Please forward onto those that may be interested.
Thanks

This year a gruelling new 250km challenge has been added to the routes
