Hello Bilbys,

It's almost Summer which means Bilbys are running an aid station at the
Canberra Ironman 70.3 again!

This is always a fun day for Bilbys volunteers and the Bilbys aid station is
famous within the triathlon community. Thinking about volunteering? Here
are some reasons to get involved:

. It really is great fun! You get to hang out with your Bilbys
friends and cheer on your mates!

. It's a great way for novices to meet other Bilbys and vice versa!

. You get a great view of the race! The Bilbys aid station is set up
half way along the 2 lap run course so you get to see the runners four
times!

. You get snacks, drinks and maybe even a tshirt!

. You can still volunteer if you're doing the swim or ride leg of the
race as part of a team!

. It's a great festive atmosphere with posters, decorations, music
and cheering!

. It really is famous - 2 years ago I watched the Port Macquarie
Ironman while wearing my Bilbys tshirt and I had quite a few people come up
to me and tell me how much they love running through our aid station!

If you'd like to volunteer please enter your name on this spread sheet {

social at bilbys.org with your mobile telephone number and email address so we
can contact you.

This year we are also looking for a shift coordinator to supervise the
either the morning or afternoon shift. This involves communicating with
race officials, allocating duties and arranging for set up/packing away of
the aid station. If you're interested please email
<mailto:social at bilbys.org> social at bilbys.org. It would be great if the
shift coordinator has been involved with the aid station in past years but
it's not essential.

Emma and Erin
